Whatever higher power you believe in — whoever your inner voice turns to in moments of struggle or gratitude — they’re listening. And when you’re ready, you will be given the life you prayed for.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with trust and letting go. I’ve always wanted to have control over situations that are quite simply out of my control. But I’m learning that when I loosen my grip and trust the Universe, I create space for things to unfold naturally.
I am not here to promote any religion or debate beliefs. What I will say is for me, my belief is that there is a higher being that helps us navigate this life. For all inclusive purposes, I’ll label this being the Universe. The Universe is a guidance and protector for us, and the plan it has for us is greater than we could ever imagine. Our job is to have trust in that plan, and meet it halfway.
Let me point out that I do not believe we can just sit back, do nothing every day, and this amazing life will unfold before us. We do have a role to play in this, too. The Universe watches and it listens to all. It knows who’s out there trying, giving things their best effort, and it knows who’s not. I think to show the Universe you’re ready for the life you prayed for, you must live like you deserve it. However, you do one thing, is how you do everything.
I believe that the life I’ve envisioned for myself is one that I’ve spent a good deal hiding from and living against. I think the main reason for this is because I felt I wasn’t worthy of the good things life has to offer. For some reason, I felt I wasn’t enough and that I wasn’t capable of taking ownership of good things. I’ve spent the last several months trying to shift that mindset and prove my past self wrong. I’ve made great strides in building my confidence and keeping promises I’ve made to myself to prove my worthiness.
I believe in speaking things into existence. What you focus on, you become. So here is the life I envision — the life I’m preparing for:
I wish for a life of peace. A life where I do not dwell on the past or anticipate the future but am able to live fully in the present. I wish to share a life with someone who loves and respects me as I love and respect them. We choose to conquer everyday life and our goals we want to accomplish together. We will encourage each other as we pursue individual goals of becoming the best versions of ourselves. I wish for a home that truly feels like my own and is a representation of me. A home that feels cozy and welcoming that I can entertain and make memories with the people I love. I wish to travel and experience different parts of the world and their cultures. I wish to build better relationships with my family and friends, not hide or be embarrassed of who I am, and find my true tribe. It can be a small tribe. I would probably prefer that in all honesty, but one where I can truly be myself and not feel as if I’m a burden on them. I wish to further pursue my creativity and writing and see where the journey takes me. I wish to be financially comfortable to live well, give to others, and save for the future. I wish to find a way to not rely on another business to provide for me, but I am able to find a way to build it on my own.
To some, these may seem like simple wishes, but to me, they are everything I’ve ever wished for. My heart’s true desires. Get to know yourself and make your own list. Live like it’s already yours. The Universe is watching, listening, and preparing to deliver — when you are ready.
Here’s a list of some questions to ask yourself and reflect on to prepare for the life that you’ve always wanted:
- Are you truly ready for the life you prayed for? If not, what can you start doing today to get yourself closer to being ready?
- What will you do when you finally get it?
- Will you be able to notice when it happens?
- Do you have any doubts, or do you have complete trust in your plan?
You may find yourself having difficulty answering some of these questions. That’s completely normal. I find myself contemplating many of these questions frequently. Some days my answers change, and I find myself having doubts. In times of doubt, I know there’s something blocking my readiness. There is more work to be done. In order to be ready, you must have complete trust. Complete trust in the plan and the fact that is surely on the way.
